Your only limits are the ones you choose to accept.
I live by this sentiment. So much so I have it tattooed on my arm. It’s there as a daily reminder. It gives me strength. It gives me hope.
I’m driven by a deep, personal need to see change — to reimagine education on a global scale, and to build a system that truly sees, hears, and understands every child, especially those who think and learn differently.
Why? Because I want to make a difference for my children — children who are bright, beautiful, and full of potential, but who are so often misunderstood. They deserve more. All children do. The education system, which should uplift and support them, too often fails to do so.
I speak from experience. As an educator, I once lacked the knowledge I so desperately needed. Not because I didn’t care — I cared more than words can say but I didn’t truly understand. I made mistakes. So to those I may have let down, I’m deeply sorry.
If only I had known then what I know now.
I truly believe it’s not too late. There is still time — time to learn, to grow, and to do better. Our educators need better support, more understanding and greater compassion. Our education system must evolve to reflect the diverse ways children experience and navigate the world.
I may not have it all figured out just yet, but I’m on the journey. I know, deep down, I will make a difference — one that matters.
